A group of educators gathered in the Museum of the City of New York’s “World City” gallery. Prominent displays include sections titled “1980–2001” and “Street Life,” with exhibits featuring themes such as policing, the events of 9/11, and urban life. The room is dimly lit with illuminated display cases and projected images. Attendees appear engaged, reading, discussing, and taking notes.

A+/P Credit Course: People of New York: How Individuals Shape History

This in-person, interactive, and powerful course for PK-12 educators draws on the Museum of the City of New York’s groundbreaking exhibitions to examine the past, present, and future of New York through the lives of New Yorkers who have shaped and been shaped by the city they call home.

Two people dance together in a colorful, immersive art installation. The room features wooden floors and sheer fabric panels hanging from the ceiling, onto which vibrant, life-size video projections of dancers are displayed. The walls also show large-scale projections of people dancing, creating a lively, energetic atmosphere. Overhead lighting adds to the vivid, multicolored ambiance of the space.
