From pre-colonial times to today, water has shaped the city’s history. In partnership with the Department of Environmental Protection, join us for a day examining the history of water and learn how it has impacted the city’s growth.

What to Expect:

  • Interactive opening discussion in Central Park
  • Outdoor scavenger hunt
  • Curator-led gallery tours
  • Materials for classroom use

This Chancellor’s Day is held in conjunction with New York at Its Core, the first exhibition to present the compelling story of New York’s rise from a striving Dutch village to today’s “Capital of the World,” a preeminent global city now facing the future in a changing world.

All participating educators receive a letter of attendance.
