Please note that this program has been postponed. All registered participants will be contacted directly.

In this free, full-day program for educators, discover basketball’s distinctly New York character and uncover how the game reflects the cultural, social, economic, ethnic, and racial history of our city. Enjoy tours of the exhibition City/Game: Basketball in New York, which explores the social geography of the game and the stories of players and coaches who invented a distinct style—and legacy—of basketball in the city. Participate in hands-on workshops exploring the connections between sports and youth culture, activism, and education, and leave with new resources for your classroom.

This interdisciplinary day includes workshops that target curriculum standards for elementary, middle, and high school educators.

Free. Registration required. 5 CTLE hours.
