New York on Film: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow
Don't miss this outdoor screening of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (Kerry Conran, 2004, 146 mins). The film is set in an alternate New York City in the 1930s, blending art deco aesthetics and futuristic technology for a unique visual adventure. Follow Sky Captain (Jude Law) and reporter Polly Perkins (Gwyneth Paltrow) as they uncover the mystery of giant robot attacks and the disappearances of prominent scientists.
Filled with richly detailed cityscapes and iconic buildings inspired by 1930s architecture, this film captures themes featured throughout our new exhibition, Art Deco City.
