The Museum of the City of New York welcomes children of all ages and their families to join us this holiday season for winter-inspired activities for all to enjoy!  

This Winter Recess, the Museum will come alive with activities for children and families to enjoy! We’ll celebrate the season with art activities, musical performances, and holiday film screenings. Make the Museum of the City of New York a part of your family’s holiday tradition by stopping by. 

Drop in anytime! Activities will take place from 11am–3pm from Tuesday, December 26th through Saturday, December 30th.

Ongoing 10 am – 5 pm 

Pick up a scavenger hunt and explore Gingerbread NYC: The Great Borough Bake-Off to see the tantalizing New York-inspired creations of more than 20 bakers. Recommended for ages 3 to 12 with a grown-up.

Arts & Crafts 
Ongoing, 11am–3pm 

Participate in arts and crafts activities inspired by the winter season and New York’s iconic structures. Create a variety of objects to take home - including snowflake monoprints, winter garlands, and more!

Storytime @ MCNY 

Daily, 11 am 

StoryTime @ MCNY is a free, drop-in, picture-book reading series for families and caretakers. In this special edition of StoryTime, we invite children ages 3 to 5 and their grownups to join us for story hour with librarians. Each story will feature one of the iconic landmarks of New York City included in the Gingerbread exhibition, from Yankee Stadium to the Brooklyn Bridge. Pre-registration is strongly recommended.
