Did you know that access to clean drinking water was one of the major motivators in the consolidation of the five boroughs in 1898? Explore Port City, 1609-1898, to learn about the solutions for obtaining clean water for all New Yorkers. Use these ideas to think like an urban planner and dream up solutions for other cities around the world who are still working towards access to clean water. Use various materials to create a model of your design.

Family programs are free with Museum admission and for members, geared to families with children ages 6-12 years old, and include a snack. Activities are designed for adults and children to complete together.
