Rhythm of the City: Salsa Saturday

Join us for Salsa Saturday, a lively afternoon of music and movement in celebration of the opening of our latest exhibition, Urban Stomp (opens April 11). Don't miss the electrifying sounds of world-renowned performer Jimmy Bosch and his band!
Live salsa dance tutorials led by special guest instructors in between sets. Open to all skill levels, step into the rhythm of salsa and experience the vibrant energy of the city through music and dance. Drinks will be on sale at our MCNY Bar along with delicious bites by La Fonda NYC, A Puertorriqueño Culinary Experience.

About the Artists:
Jimmy Bosch: Recording artist / Trombonist / Singer / Composer / Dancer & Producer with more than 150 Salsa and/or Latin Jazz recordings, including 11 Grammy award winning CD productions on which Jimmy is a featured artist.
Jimmy has performed in over 100 countries around the world. He is considered one of the most important exponents of the New York style Afro Caribbean music often called “Salsa Dura” or Hard Salsa! Jimmy is a disciple of the Eddie Palmieri legacy. A composer who writes from the heart, including many songs about his life experiences, Jimmy moves audience with his vocal abilities and his explosive trombone sound and natural swing in his delivery.
Bosch has worked alongside Eddie Palmieri, Ruben Blades, Ray Barretto, Manny Oquendo y Libre, Machito, FANIA Allstars, Cachao, Mambo Legends, Pete El Conde Rodriguez, and more.He has Performed LIVE in Salsa Congresses, World music festivals, Jazz Festivals and clubs in Japan, China, Thailand, Ukraine, India, throughout all of Europe, North, South and Central America, the Caribbean islands, the US and Australia.Jimmy Bosch transmits powerful energy which makes you move, dance, cry, laugh and celebrate life. He creates a strong connection with the dancers and listeners alike.He is considered a true ambassador of the passionate, expressive and hardcore New York style “Salsa Dura.”
