NYC Discovery Lab – Winter Traditions

Join us this month at the NYC Discovery Lab as we celebrate the winter season in New York City! Learn about the wintertime traditions of New Yorkers past and present every weekend in December with drop-in activities for children ages 5-12 and their grownups! 

Dates: Every Saturday and Sunday in December  
Time: Drop-in anytime between 11am-4pm 

  • Examine historical objects to discover how New Yorkers have celebrated the winter season and pick up a historical cookie recipe to try at home! 
  • Grab a scavenger hunt and explore the five boroughs of New York City in our Gingerbread NYC exhibition. 
  • Craft your own gingerbread-inspired popsicle stick house.  
  • Test your NYC-Knowledge with our True or False: NYC Winter Traditions trivia game.


Museum Admission:  
New York State Residents: Pay What You Can   
Children: Free for ages 18 and under  
Adults $23/Seniors $18 & Students/$14 – please purchase a ticket online or pay-what-you-wish at the door on the day of your visit. No registration necessary.
