NYC Discovery Lab – Art Deco City
Join us this month at the NYC Discovery Lab as we explore Art Deco in New York City! Learn about the Art Deco style and its influence on New York City from fashion to architecture every weekend in January with drop-in activities for children ages 5-12 and their grownups!
Dates: Every Saturday and Sunday in January
Time: Drop-in anytime between 11am-4pm
- Learn about different the rise of Art Deco buildings in the 1930s with a map-based activity.
- Learn about the symbols and elements of the Art Deco style, and how Native American designs influenced this art form
- Grab a scavenger hunt and find examples of Art Deco in the museum’s galleries.
- Design and collage your own Art Deco Building
- Create an Art Deco inspired paper headband to wear.
Museum Admission:
New York State Residents: Pay What You Can
Children: Free for ages 18 and under
Adults $23/Seniors $18 & Students/$14 – please purchase a ticket online or pay-what-you-wish at the door on the day of your visit. No registration necessary.
