Join us for a special screening of Wild Style (Charlie Ahearn, 1983, 82 mins), widely regarded as the first hip-hop film, capturing the early days of graffiti, breakdancing, DJing, and MCing in New York City’s vibrant underground scene. The film features memorable performances and appearances by pioneers including Grandmaster Flash, Fab 5 Freddy, Lee Quiñones, Lady Pink, the Rock Steady Crew, and The Cold Crush Brothers.

This screening is presented in collaboration with our upcoming exhibition Above Ground: Art from the Martin Wong Graffiti Collection, which opens November 22nd.

Stay tuned for updates on guest speakers and more.
