Don't miss this screening of Beat Street (Stan Lathan, 1984,106 mins), a vibrant celebration of hip-hop culture that debuted 40 years ago. Set against the holiday season and culminating on New Year's Eve, this iconic film captures the heart of 1980s New York City, featuring cameos from hip-hop legends, showcasing the artistry of breakdancing, graffiti art, DJing, and MCing that defined an era. Discover the rhythms, stories, and energy that made Beat Street a groundbreaking piece of New York cinema. 

This screening is presented partnership with the Hip Hop Hall of Fame, in collaboration with our new exhibition Above Ground: Art from the Martin Wong Graffiti Collection.
