Music and Movement: Holiday Family Performances with Gabrielle Garo 

The Museum of the City of New York will come alive with the joyful sounds of music faculty from the Harlem School of the Arts as we celebrate the holiday season. Sing along and move your body to the rhythm of the beat. Performances will take place in the Rotunda.

About Gabrielle Garo 

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Gabrielle Garo’ is a multi-instrumentalist playing flute, piccolo, alto, tenor, soprano saxophone, and clarinet. Featured on two Grammy nominated albums, she has performed locally and internationally, and has been presented with the 2019 Brooklyn Jazz Hall of Fame’s Deacon Leroy Applin Young Lioness Award, amongst various others. She has made TV appearances and is an ambassador of the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation. Gabrielle has worked with artists such as, Beyoncé, Esperanza Spalding, Christian McBride, and Bobby Sanabria. She can be seen performing on a Tiny Desk Concert with Ab-Soul and has recently made her debut with Karol G in Medellín, Colombia, after being a part of Lizzo’s The Special Tour’23. As faculty and alum of Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Middle School Jazz Academy and The Harlem School of the Arts, Gabrielle has obtained her Undergraduate Degree in Jazz Performance (‘19), and Master’s Degree in Arts Management & Entrepreneurship (‘20) at The New School.
