By age 30, trumpeter and singer Benny Benack III has proven to be the rarest of talents. A fiery trumpet player, singer, and highly capable pianist, Benack performs internationally as an Emcee/Host for Postmodern Jukebox. Alongside his global touring as a straight-ahead/contemporary bandleader, he has appeared as a trumpet soloist on television, in commercial circles alongside Josh Groban, Ben Folds, fashion icon Isaac Mizrahi, and Ann Hampton Callaway, and at leading New York venues such as Birdland and Jazz @ Lincoln Center. Hear what he has to say about jazz in New York here.
About Sketch & Sip:
Join Drawing America for a 90-minute 'Sketch and Sip' drawing session. Separate registration required; register here. Draw a live costumed model in Swing-inspired clothing. Share your work at the breaks, take in an exhibit and come back for more sketching. Materials are provided or bring your own pencils and paper.
