CITIES & SPORTS LUNCHEON
Each spring, the Museum brings together some of New York’s most influential philanthropists who share a passion for our city. This year, the Museum will host a business luncheon featuring a discussion on the power of sports to generate economic development for cities. The panel moderated by James G. Dinan will feature some of our country’s preeminent business leaders and professional sports team owners: David Blitzer, Jon Ledecky, and Stephen M. Ross.

Each Spring, the Museum presents The City of Design Award to recognize those who have made New York the design capital of the world and who inspire future generations of designers to bring their talents to our great city.

CENTENNIAL GALA
On May 24, 2023, the Museum celebrated its 100th anniversary with a Centennial Gala that featured dinner, dancing, and the opening of our new exhibition, This Is New York: 100 Years of the City in Art and Pop Culture. We presented Michael R. Bloomberg with the Gotham Icon Award in honor of his dedication to New York City and his continuous support of the Museum. The gala also featured an After Party hosted by the Museum's Director's Circle.

DIRECTOR'S CIRCLE BENEFIT
As the Museum of the City of New York celebrates its centennial, it is thrilled to launch a new event-driven committee of young professionals called the Director's Circle. As the next generation of New York City’s leaders, the Director’s Circle guides and invests in the future of the Museum. This group is for New Yorkers between 21 and 35 years old.
The Director's Circle hosts an annual benefit on the last Friday of September. The benefits hosts over 500 guests and features an open bar, world-famous DJ FLO, dancing under the stars, and NYC culture in our exhibitions.

LOUIS AUCHINCLOSS PRIZE
Each Fall, the Museum of the City of New York presents the Louis Auchincloss Prize to writers and artists whose work is inspired by and enhances the five boroughs of New York City. On December 4, 2023, the Museum presented the 2023 Louis Auchincloss Prize to five-time Tony Award-winning director and choreographer, Susan Stroman. The evening featured cocktails, an award presentation, and performances of Susan's Work. Performers included Josh Breckenridge, Robyn Hurder, Debra Monk, Brad Oscar, Anna Uzele, Vanessa Williams, and Karen Ziemba.
