NYC Discovery Lab
Join us every weekend at the Museum for free, hands-on activities for kids ages 5-12 and adults.
- Pick up a guide with activity prompts and explore New York’s art, culture, and history in our galleries.
- Learn fun facts about NYC from Museum Educators while you create an artwork or artifact to take home, each based on a rotating monthly theme.
- Listen in to stories for our youngest visitors (ages 3-5) that connect to each month's theme in our Storytime for Littles programming.
- Learn about the Lenape, NYC's First People, through activities that honor Lenape heritage related to each month's theme.
December at the NYC Discovery Lab
- This month, we will learn about the wintertime traditions of New Yorkers past and present through exploration of an early 19th century painting depicting winter in Brooklyn and other activities.
January at the NYC Discovery Lab
- Next month, explore Art Deco in New York City from fashion to architecture through a map-based activity, scavenger hunt, and more!
Drop-in activities do not require registration or ticketing. Pay-what-you-wish admission is available at the ticket desk. Daily admission is free for visitors 19 years old and under, and if you live or work in zip codes 10029, 10035, or 10037.
