The Museum of the City of New York welcomes children of all ages and their families! The Museum offers a variety of ways for families and communities to explore New York City through our signature programs, including the NYC Discovery Lab, Storytime for Tots, Storytime for Littles, scavenger hunts, and more. Signature Family Programs
NYC Discovery Lab
Learn about our new series of weekly drop-in hands-on activities for all ages. Join us every Saturday & Sunday from 11am–3pm and explore a new theme each month!
Storytime @ MCNY
Storytime @ MCNY is a picture-book reading series for families and caretakers with children produced in partnership with the New York Public Library. The series will be offered 3 times monthly.
Storytime for Littles
Join us for a Storytime program for children ages 3 to 5 years and hear stories and songs about NYC facilitated by a museum educator. Included with admission. 11:30am-12pm, every second Saturday and third Sunday.
Roots and Rise: A NYC Black History Celebration
Join the MCNY and the NYC Public Advocates Office this Black History Month as we celebrate the rich and vibrant legacy of Black culture, history, and contributions to New York City.
Storytime for Tots
Join us for a free bilingual Storytime program for children ages 18 months to 3 years and their grownups and hear stories and songs about NYC facilitated by a NYPL librarian. Free. 10:30am-11am, every third Thursday.
