Gingerbread NYC: The Great Borough Bake-Off — Back and better than ever with 23 bakers this season, Gingerbread NYC explores iconic New York structures using gingerbread as the medium.

This Is New York: 100 Years of the City in Art and Pop Culture — In honor of the Museum’s centennial, this exhibition, which spans a full city block, is organized around the types of urban spaces where the stories of New York are told.

Byzantine Bembé: New York by Manny Vega — Opens December 8, 2023. Explore the visual storytelling of El Barrio’s own artist and mosaicist Manny Vega.
What To Do: Shop & Explore
- Capturing Times Square— Saturday, December 2 at 2pm. FREE! Join a conversation with artist Jane Dickson and historian Lynne Sagalyn about what it means to capture Times Square in art and historical narrative. Moderated by James Sanders.
- Gingerbread NYC Community Day—Saturday, December 9 from 1–5pm. FREE! Join us on this special day to see (and smell!) gingerbread creations highlighting iconic New York structures. Throughout the event enjoy snacks, kids activities, and… a special guest appearance by Santa! Register
- Cocktails & Culture: Winter Blast—Thursday, December 14 from 6–9pm. Celebrate the holidays in style at MCNY! Spend the evening dancing to DJ tres dos, sipping seasonal cocktails, decorating gingerbread cookies, and exploring our latest exhibitions.
- MCNY X Brooklyn Pop-Up Holiday Market—Saturday and Sunday, December 16 & 17 from 10am–5pm. FREE! Drop in and discover 25 artisans, designers, and makers representing all 5 boroughs.
- Winter Break Week—Tuesday, December 26–Saturday, December 30 from 11am–3pm. FREE! celebrate the season with art activities, musical performances, and holiday film screenings for children of all ages and their families to enjoy. Drop-in activities every day.

Holiday Schedule:
The Museum is open 10am–5pm Friday–Monday and 10am–9pm Thursday.
In addition, the Museum will be open Tuesday, December 19 & 26, and Wednesday, December 20 & 27.
Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
