The Museum of the City of New York welcomes children of all ages and their families! The Museum offers a variety of ways for families and communities to explore New York City through our signature programs, including the NYC Discovery Lab, Storytime for Tots, Storytime for Littles, scavenger hunts, and more. Storytime for Tots
Join us for a free bilingual Storytime program for children ages 18 months to 3 years and their grownups and hear stories and songs about NYC facilitated by a NYPL librarian. Free. 10:30am-11am, every third Thursday.
Family Cakesicle Decorating Workshop with Patty Pops
Create your own winter-themed design with Gingerbread NYC baker Petroula Lambrou. For children ages 6 to 12 and their grownups. Seats limited.
Storytime for Littles
Join us for a Storytime program for children ages 3 to 5 years and hear stories and songs about NYC facilitated by a museum educator. Included with admission. 11:30am-12pm, every second Saturday and third Sunday.
Signature Family Programs
NYC Discovery Lab
Learn about our new series of weekly drop-in hands-on activities for all ages. Join us every Saturday & Sunday from 11am–3pm and explore a new theme each month!
Storytime @ MCNY
Storytime @ MCNY is a picture-book reading series for families and caretakers with children produced in partnership with the New York Public Library. The series will be offered 3 times monthly.
