What's On View: Exhibition Highlights
- Gingerbread NYC: The Great Borough Bake-Off presents gingerbread displays by New York amateur and professional bakers on the theme of “Iconic New York." Through January 12
- Art Deco City: New York Postcards from the Leonard A. Lauder Collection explores how New York City was transformed into a cultural capital during the interwar years. Through February 17
- Byzantine Bembé: New York by Manny Vega showcases the visual storytelling of El Barrio’s own artist and mosaicist Manny Vega. Through January 6
- The Stettheimer Dollhouse in a New Light heralds the return of a beloved object to MCNY’s galleries following an extensive conservation project. Opens November 22
- Above Ground: Art from the Martin Wong Graffiti Collection illuminates the evolution of graffiti art from the streets to the galleries. Opens November 22

- Gingerbread NYC Community Day—Saturday, December 7 from 1–4:00pm: Join us on this special day to see (and smell!) gingerbread creations highlighting iconic New York structures. Throughout the event enjoy snacks, kids activities, and… a special guest appearance by Santa! Register here.
- The League of Kitchens Cookbook—Saturday, December 7 at 1:00pm: Celebrate the launch of The League of Kitchens Cookbook, a vibrant collection of recipes and culinary wisdom from immigrant women across the globe. Register here.
- New York on Film: Beat Street—Saturday, December 14 at 2:00pm: Set against the holiday season and culminating on New Year's Eve, this iconic film captures the heart of 1980s New York City, featuring cameos from hip-hop legends, showcasing the artistry of breakdancing, graffiti art, DJing, and MCing that defined an era. - NYC Discovery Lab – Winter Traditions— Saturdays and Sundays in December from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.: Learn about the wintertime traditions of New Yorkers past and present every weekend in December with drop-in activities for children ages 5-12 and their grownups. Free with Museum Admission
- Winter Break Week—Friday, December 27–Monday, December 30 from 11:00 am–4:00 pm. Celebrate the season with art activities, musical performances, and holiday film screenings for children of all ages and their families to enjoy. Drop-in activities every day. Free with Museum Admission
