New York City has been coined “the city that never sleeps.” There is so much to do and see in the city, including vibrant art seeping into every corner. Visit the exhibition Art in the Open: Fifty Years of Public Art in New York to discover the creativity all around us. Then design and paint a sketch of a public art piece of your own!

Family programs are free with Museum admission and for Members, and geared toward families with children ages 6–12 years old. Activities are designed for adults and children to complete together.

Family and Community Engagement Programs are made possible in part by the Milton and Sally Avery Arts Foundation; Sy Syms Foundation; Lone Pine Foundation; and Louis Wiley, Jr.

The Frederick A.O. Schwarz Education Center is endowed by grants from The Thompson Family Foundation Fund, the F.A.O. Schwarz Family Foundation, the William Randolph Hearst Endowment, and other generous donors.
