New York City’s history is rich with inspiring and influential people, from Walt Whitman to Lady Gaga. Discover New Yorkers of the past and present that have helped to transform and shape the great city that we know today in the New York at Its Core galleries. Play our giant game of checkers to learn more about these influential New Yorkers!

This free Family Program takes place in Cherry Tree Playground (99th St. to 100th St., Third Avenue) and is geared to families with children ages 6-12 years old. Activities are designed for adults and children to complete together.
